We’re thrilled to present our new project: “From Disruptive Places to Hidden Gems”, a collaboration between Durf Jij (Kortrijk, Belgium) and Cultterra (Elefsina, Greece), supported by Erasmus+! 🎉
This phrase conveys the idea of a place that is undervalued or unused, but has the potential to become something valuable and necessary.

🔎 What’s the goal?
Young people are full of creativity and ideas, but often lack the space or support to bring them to life. In the Thriasio region, free public spaces are scarce and often inaccessible due to bureaucracy or unsuited to community needs. The outflow of young creatives (brain drain) seeking opportunities elsewhere is a major concern that Cultterra takes seriously.

This project highlights the need to transform abandoned spaces into vibrant cultural hubs, giving young people the opportunity to create and participate informally—free from red tape or creative burnout. It’s also a chance to explore what’s happening in another European city and build cross-cultural exchanges of ideas and experiences through youth collaboration—with the hope of improving local conditions.
