THREE-DAY FESTIVAL AT ARKOPOLIS

In September 2023, the youth collective Cultterra, in collaboration with the Belgian artistic collective TimeCircus, co-organised a three-day celebration at ARKOPOLIS Park — a legacy project of Elefsina European Capital of Culture 2023, located in Elefsina. The project aimed to activate public space through participatory activities, highlighting communities that are often rendered invisible, such as the skateboarding community, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and migrants from Albania and Pakistan.

ARKOPOLIS was transformed into a space of vibrancy, multiculturalism, and creativity, hosting a wide range of activities — from traditional recipes and artistic workshops to techno parties, film screenings, and sports events. With over 1,500 participants, the park became a contemporary meeting point for communities, cultures, and generations. The project laid the groundwork for the ongoing and inclusive use of the space, grounded in respect for diversity and openness.
