A celebration of visibility, love, and acceptance in Elefsina! Cultterra hosts “Pride and Prejudice” for the first time, giving space for the LGBTQI+ community of Thriasio to be heard and to express themselves.

Every June, numerous events take place around the world to give LGBTQI+ individuals a platform to highlight the issues that matter to them and to send powerful messages to future generations.

Is there an LGBTQI+ community in the Thriasio region?

“Pride” is a movement rooted in acceptance, equality, sexual liberation, and the recognition of the LGBTQI+ community. It is a global celebration of visibility where people can stand against violence and discrimination, and challenge the taboos surrounding sexual orientation, gender identity, gender characteristics, and gender expression.

Cultterra (formerly Youth Labs) is a youth-led group with a vision for the city of Elefsina. Formed in 2019 with the support, training, and networking of the Elefsina 2023 European Capital of Culture, Cultterra creates a space for the voices of young people to be heard.

In the spirit of Pride Month and inspired by discussions and concerns shared within the group, Cultterra has decided to organize a small celebration titled “Pride and Prejudice.”
Because we believe that this community does exist in our region.

Our personal need is to break free from labels and stereotypes, and to show that love knows no boundaries or egos. Love should be free—not hidden, silenced, or suppressed. And that’s what we stand for!

We invite you to join us for this celebration of love—the very first of its kind in our city!
