ELEUSIS NO LONGER KEEPS SECRETS | Queer Event 2025
The 4th Queer event of Elefsina, titled “Elefsina No Longer Keeps Secrets,” successfully took place on September 13th, 2025, at the Leonidas Kanellopoulos Cultural Center.
The event began at 18:30 with a three-stage workshop led by Emantes – International LGBTQIA+ Solidarity, exploring the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and each person’s journey of identity. The workshop aimed to propose both individual and collective solutions to the challenges faced by the community and to design awareness-raising actions.
At 21:30, queer comedians Savvoula Oikonomou, Dimitra Thoma, Lukumaki, and Kostas Stellos presented a one-hour stand-up comedy show at the open-air theater of the L. Kanellopoulos Center.
This was followed by drag performances from Andromeda Balls and Cyka de la Blyat, who among others presented a show inspired by the song “The Nightmare of Persephone” by Maria Farantouri and Manos Hadjidakis — a landmark piece for Elefsina. The dance act was joined by Prifti, an emblematic Elefsinian dancer who supports the event every year, offering impressive and emotional moments.
The visual arts element of the event was equally captivating: Pandora Kartsonaki presented the installation “Summer Concerns for a Body That Fits Us.”
The venue also hosted booths by organizations and collectives, including Antivirus Magazine, emfylo (Thessaloniki), Positive Voice and My Checkpoint, Adespota Mystiria, Queer Space Athens, and Emantes – International LGBTQIA+ Solidarity.
Cyka de la Blyat, the Eleusinian goddess of drag, mesmerized the audience with her presence and words, encouraging everyone to take part in the program.
The 4th queer event was a major challenge for Cultterra, as it combined a large number of artists, continuous acts, and an audience of young people free to express themselves without social stereotypes. It attracted around 200 participants. It was the biggest and most visible edition so far — and the first year without any negative comments or bullying from the local community.
We feel proud to be part of this city and to witness Elefsina’s queer community blooming and shining every year, with glitter on our cheeks celebrating freedom of expression despite the challenges of our times.
Below you can find photographic material from the event. We fully respected the audience’s privacy, which is why no participant faces are shown. All photos belong to Cultterra’s archive.
